I have competed all around New Zealand and have bowled vs the best bowlers in the country who are based from Auckland to Wellington and i have beaten a few of them the best part of bowling is the smack talk/banter. If you cant back it up then its gutted it has never happened yet to me. And i have a mate who drills all my bowling gear for me his name is Harry hes based in Wellington we have became such great friends over the years and lately i have been in tournaments as i have not had the funds but i bowl in a league on a Sunday morning . I used to bowl 2x a week but i have cut back to once a week due to lack of funds.
